26th September 2025

This week at our office, legal experts across Lee & Thompson’s Film & TV, Employment, Immigration and Dispute Resolution teams delivered a broad overview of the legal fundamentals of today’s TV production life cycle exclusively to Pact members, in a breakfast session called “Legal Lens: Before, During & After TV Production”.

Legal Director Damian McParland talked through the evolution of multiparty financing, AVEC Update and enhanced VFX incentive and how to keep financiers on your side, meanwhile Senior Associate, Martin Tynan, shared the key considerations when contracting crew as well as how to handle employee complaints and grievances, and Legal Director Anushka Sinha laid out the nuances of today’s UK Immigration Law.

Partner Mike Brookes emphasised the importance of content clearance and shared practical guidance for dealing with disputes and claims, and Senior Associate, Vicky Gaisford, provided insight into contracting TV talent.

Partner Andy Moseby wrapped up the session by introducing Catalyst, L&T’s new legal service designed to support start-ups in the media and tech industries, giving crucial advice for early-stage production companies with more limited resources in their journey for business growth.
