Damian McParland talks production incentives to BIFA’s Springboard cohort

On Tuesday this week, Film & TV legal director Damian McParland delivered training on the AVEC production incentive to a group of 8 UK based film producers on the 25/26 BIFA Springboard programme, alongside facilitator, Nia Childs.

During the session at The Film and TV Charity, Damian gave an overview of the current Audio-Visual Expenditure Credit (AVEC) regime and the conditions to qualification, discussed AVEC rates for different types of projects, including independent films, animation, Children’s TV and High-End TV, and took a deep dive into the Independent Film Tax Credit (IFTC). He also gave an overview of the new AVEC enhancement for VFX and explored current market trends relating to AVEC.
