L&T facilitates BFI-backed “International Horizons: Scripted” training session for indie producers

15th January 2026

We were delighted to once again host industry-leading training for indie screen producers at TRC Media’s “International Horizons: Scripted” programme, in our offices yesterday.

The programme, backed by the British Film Institute (BFI), Creative Wales, Northern Ireland Screen and Screen Scotland, is designed to open opportunities for indie producers in high-end drama, providing them with the skills, knowledge and networks necessary to thrive in international markets. This year’s delegates were a group of 9 carefully selected producers from Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales.

The intensive day-long training was also a unique opportunity for the individuals to get together, share peer-to-peer knowledge and have one-on-ones with the day’s exciting contributors from all corners of the scripted sector.

We were thrilled not only to host the day but also share some of our own legal insights, with two talks delivered by L&T.

Film & TV Legal Director Marek George lifted the lid on co-production arrangements. A second legal talk followed, which honed in on the key issues for independent producers when developing, producing and financing programmes, delivered by Senior Associate Fi Tudur. Partner Lee Stone facilitated the event, which also counted industry speakers from Eleven, Casarotto, Sky Studios and Sony Pictures.
