On Thursday this week, Film & TV partner Alastair Mavor shared insights on closing finance on independent feature films with writers, producers and directors, all working on their second fiction feature film.

He joined a panel at the 2025-26 BIFA Springboard Cohort for the talk which was chaired by industry journalist Wendy Mitchell, speaking alongside producer, Piers Tempest, and Film Finances MD, Peter La Terriere. The conversations flowed from recoupment positions to A-list cast deals and everything in between.

We hope all 30 attendees of this BIFA Springboard programme – some producers of which are Lee & Thompson clients – found it actionable. We wish them all well on their upcoming exciting screen projects.
